greg's Story
Well, I was Dito Gomez in High School. An unfortunate name for a huge kid who looks like a giant white kid. So, my story was pretty short in high school. Enjoyed the pleasure of being bullied and overlooked long enough for me to end up dropping out in the 11th grade. I remember a bunch of people who were sincerely cool to me, but alas, high school wasn't for me. So I joined the Navy in 1986, and about a year later I got my GED. Over the next 26 years, I have:
Earned my A.A. degree, 2nd Degree black Belt in Judo, a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems (with a high school dropout defying 4.0 GPA :-P), married an amazing and super sexy woman, raised her two daughters as my own, had a daughter of my own who is afreaking mazing herself, earned a commission as a US Naval Officer and been promoted to CWO4, become...Expand for more
a 7 Habits of Highly Effective Habits facilitator, started a fine art photography LLC, created two online businesses. I have lived in Maryland, Puerto Rico, Italy, San Diego, England, back to Maryland, Hawaii and now back to Virginia Beach and I now support the US Navy Special forces.
Needless to say, I have had a pretty big chip on my shoulder for all the bad memories from the many high schools I attended, but King High School was by far the best of the bunch. I really hope I can catch up with a few of the people who showed me support and kindness back in the day.
good luck in you future, mine turned out just fine, even after the counselors told my mother to put in a VoTec school because I wouldn't amount to much.
